Why is my mobile phone locked?
Network operators install 'SIMlocks' or 'SPlocks (Service Provider Locks)' onto their handsets so that they can prevent you from using your handset on a rival network.
Most networks do not like you moving away from their network as this means they lose money so they often charge expensive rates to unlock your mobile phone and you will often need to wait 24-48 hours for your unlock codes to be sent to you.
However these 'SIMlocks' or 'SPlocks' can be removed by inputting our unlock codes directly into your locked mobile phone using just the keypad which removes any restrictions immediately.
